A Test of Spatial Memory and Concentration – Memory Test
This memory test is a rigorous challenge that requires you to commit the animals and their positions on the displayed cards to short-term memory, then accurately click only the specific target animals after the cards are flipped over. The game consists of 10 levels, with the memory load increasing as you progress.
- 2
Rules
Initially, multiple cards are displayed face-up, each featuring an animal. After a set period, the cards flip over. Relying on your memory, you must accurately click only the positions where the designated target animals were located.
- 3
Increasing Difficulty
As you advance through the levels, the number of target animals to memorize increases, and the time allowed to memorize the card layout decreases. The later levels demand rapid memorization and precise recall.
Cognitive Functions You Will Train
Spatial Memory and Error Processing
This game effectively trains spatial memory (the ability to temporarily retain and accurately recall visual positional information) and working memory (the ability to manage and recall information about multiple targets simultaneously). Players do this by holding the images and locations of animals shown on cards in their short-term memory and then accurately clicking only the target animals after the cards are flipped over. As the levels progress, the number of targets increases and the memorization time decreases, strongly stimulating processing speed and sustained attention. Furthermore, the "Strict Mode"—which allows for no errors—specifically strengthens error monitoring (the self-monitoring ability to constantly check the accuracy of one's actions) and inhibitory control (the ability to suppress impulsive clicks based on vague memories). These cognitive functions are primarily associated with the prefrontal cortex and the parietal lobe; repeated practice can lead to improvements in everyday attention and the ability to recall memories accurately.
